Success. First private-sector job offer in hand. It certainly took a village to arrive here. A phenomenal company, with great people, and a solid location. After sleeping on it yesterday, I almost signed the offer today, but another mentor convinced me to wait one more day and call him tomorrow. I’m so privileged that people are invested in my well-being.

I’m happy to lend the investment back. A coworker reached out on behalf of her partner, who is a recent former Army Officer. She initially asked if I “had any tips as far as finding employment post-military as far as what career sectors to break into”. Knowing the transition journey, I offer my number to talk to him. He wasn’t looking for career sectors. He was looking for his next mission. A role to substitute the intoxicating purpose and amount of responsibility entrusted to young junior officers. He’s in the middle of the ocean without a compass.
