Sensing the Change

I feel lighter. As I come to the end of my Navy time and start the rest of life, I feel a sense of adventure again. The notion of pursuing anything. Throughout my uniform time, I had been so hesitant to book any personal travel because of the paperwork, the possibility of it being rescinded, and concern of leaving the team with less capability.

But now, it’s different. The focus on self. The lack of many required permissions. The seamless ability to be released.

I was reminded at dinner last night of, a concept I previously toyed with, “micro adventures”. The idea of small adventures during the week to shift perspective. Here is the Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microadventure

I see it as a way to ensure I don’t get sucked into “corporate land”. I’ll test it when I return in October to WillowTree after receiving a verbal offer. In the mean time, these next 3 months are going to be wild. That Navy fear of someone “rescinding my travel” is still in the back of my mind.
